Turtlenecks these days have tons of variations – mock neck, polo neck, skivvy, and lots more. The bottom line is it's a type of sweater that comes with a high rolled collar, covering some or most of your neck. We love turtleneck sweaters and knitwear. Our ribbed turtleneck sweater is how we got started. Since then we have added some fabulous turtlenecks and will keep adding more.
FYI the turtleneck is said to have originated back in the 15th century during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. At that time, turtlenecks consisted of a heavily ruffled neckline.. you know Shakespeare style. The bigger the wealthier the individual. The style came back in the 40's and 50's with the classic turtleneck and has been a staple of sweaters and knitwear ever since.
